Lines of work
Three lines of work, in the order clients need them.
Scientific due diligence
Independent assessment of whether a scientific proposition holds up.
The work covers scientific rationale, preclinical and clinical evidence, regulatory pathway, development risk and the strength of the underlying claims.
Risks are identified clearly and conclusions stated directly. Fixed scope, delivered within days.
Platform commercialization
Taking a validated technology and building a credible route to market.
Technology transfer, industrial scale-up, regulatory strategy, business planning and go-to-market execution.
From validated concept through to market introduction. Engagements typically run for several months.
Capital markets readiness
Preparing a science-led company for investors, strategic partners and the capital markets.
This includes the scientific narrative investors will read, the evidence base supporting valuation, and the documentation required for fundraising, strategic transactions or a potential listing.
The preparation also includes identification and engagement of strategic partners. The track record is set out in The record.
Independence
Biodvance does not run the studies it assesses. It holds no laboratory and sells no capacity. It takes no fee tied to capital raised. What remains is advice with nothing to protect.
Where it goes wrong
The same failures recur across the record. Naming them is faster than claiming judgement.
A platform is validated against a guideline its target market does not recognize. The data may be sound, but its commercial value is limited.
A product is positioned around an attribute every competitor already claims, while its true differentiator remains unrecognized and unpriced.
An institute brings a platform to GLP compliance and stops. Compliance is not a route to market.
A prospectus science section written to read well, that will not survive a regulator reading it later.
Strong data is presented in a way a board cannot follow. The science is sound, but the decision gets made on something else.
A laboratory process works technically but cannot be industrialized at the cost the business plan assumes.
A study is executed perfectly against the wrong question. No one involved was tasked with challenging the premise.
Alternatives
Three common alternatives exist. Each solves part of the problem, but not the whole of it.
A CRO
A CRO executes the study it is asked to run. It will not say the study is the wrong one. That sentence is a large part of what Biodvance is paid for.
A large consultancy
The proposal carries a senior name and the work is done by juniors. At Biodvance the person assessed on the proposal is the person doing the work.
An expert network
A network sells hours with individual experts, and nobody is accountable for the conclusion.
Biodvance provides an integrated assessment, puts a named conclusion in writing and remains accountable for the advice provided.
